Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a staff of the Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi.
Daily Sun gathered that the staff identified as Mathew Chile was kidnapped along the Makurdi–Naka road.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday, at about 6pm, when Chile, in company of his wife and four of his siblings, were driving to Makurdi from Naka in Gwer West Local Government Area LGA of the state.
The reports stated that all efforts to reach Chile on his phone number proved unsuccessful and no word has been heard from him, his wife or any of his siblings who were with him at the time of the attack.
When contacted, Head of Information, BSU, Mr. Tse Vanger, confirmed the incident, but said he did not have any details yet. Also, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Catherine Anene, said she got informed that one BSU staff member was kidnapped.
“They call him Prince Chile. I do not know his department. But investigation is already on about the incident,” Anene said.
