WAFU Cup: Falcons not under pressure to get high margin win

Super Falcons’ player, Glory Ogbonna has declared that the African Champions wouldnot be going all out just to score loads of goals against Niger Republic today at the ongoing WAFU Women’s Cup in Abidjan Cote D’Ivoire.
Speaking with brila.net, Glory noted that the team would be going out to get all 3 points and would not be under pressure to pummel the Nigerien ladies same way they got thrashed by Mali.
“Our focus for the next match is just to get the 3 points. Its not all about scoring because when we are really anxious to score and you know how football is, we may not  be able to give our best because. Our focus is just to go and win, get the 3 points and if the goal come, we grab them.
We don’t think of scoring 30 or 20 because they lost 12-0 already. No, that’s not football. Mind you, during half time, their coach can talk to them and they would change pattern and they would know there fault and correct them.
Its not our focus to go win them with margins of goal but for us to go get the 3 points and if the goals come, then its a plus”, she stated.
The WAFU Women’s Cup is being used by Falcons’ coach, Thomas Dennerby to select the home based players that would represent Nigeria at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France as he gets set to release his final team list on May 24.
