Joshua, fighting to save his legacy and continue on his path to become a lineal, undisputed heavyweight champion was captured in his selection of an Afrobeat classic in his ring walk.

Paying tribute to Nigeria and to the Legendary Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, the 30 year-old had the instrumentals of WATER NO GET ENEMY blaring on the speakers inside the Diriyah Arena.

This unique sound was noticed by a few keen ears including Nigerian sprint King Seye Ogunlewe and he tweeted:

@anthonyfjoshua Ring walk to Fela! #RuizJoshua2

Another Twitter user @ProudlyOguns also tweeted:

Did you know Fela’s music instrumental was used as an entrance song yesterday by the champ Anthony Joshua. #JoshuaRuiz2

Per By Marc Williams [talkSport], Anthony Joshua paid homage to his Nigerian roots ahead of his world heavyweight title fight with Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia.
