Contrary to rumours making the round that the Police were about releasing comic actor, Olanrewaju James Omilani, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, who was arrested for alleged defilement of a minor, the force said it has no plans to do so.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, said contrary to claims, the actor was still in detention at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba.
Odumosu, said though the offence was a bailable offence since it was not defilement but sexual assault, adding that his release would only happen based on legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Already, he said the case file of the popular actor has been sent to the office of the Attorney General of Lagos State and DPP for legal advice.
