Super Eagles Russia 2018 World Cup defender Bryan Idowu was benched for all 90 minutes as Locomotive Moscow suffered another defeat in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions game against Bayer Leverkusen.
The Russian side welcomed Leverkusen to the RZD Arena, and the Germans knew that a win for them and defeat for Athletico Madrid in Turin against Juventus will keep them in contest for round of 16.
A Rifat Zhemaletdinov’ own goal in the 11th minutes and Sven Bender’s goal in the 54th minutes was enough to hand all the three points to the visitors.
Locomotiv have now suffered their fourth defeat of the competition and they occupy bottom spot in Group D with three points from five games.
