2019 AFCON: Nosa Igiebor backs Eagles for success in Egypt

Out of favour Eagles midfielder and Anothorsis Famagusta of Cyprus player, Nosa Emmanuel Igiebor has submitted that the Eagles presently have a team on ground that can compete for honours when the AFCON 2019 kicks off in Egypt later this year.

Nigeria is making a return to the AFCON after missing out on the last two editions since last lifting the trophy in South Africa in 2013 under the late Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi.

Speaking with www.brila.net from his base in Cyprus, the former Real Betis of Spain player added that he would not predict how far the Eagles would go in Egypt due to the surprising nature of football.

“To be honest, for now, we have a good team, a young team who are hungry to make a mark for themselves. Talking about the teams, I can’t say much because football is not like ABC”.

“Sometimes it’s very difficult to predict, anything can happen and am not good with predictions, that’s all I can say for now”.

Nigeria will open camp on the 2nd of June in Asaba, looking to get adequately prepared before the start of the continental showpiece.
