Afeez Aremu on world cup ommision – So painful, I’ll be back

IK Start midfielder Afeez Aremu says he has moved on from the disappointment of missing out on a place in Nigeria’s Flying Eagles squad to the 2019 World Youth Championship in Poland and believes he will still play a role for the Super Eagles in future.

Aremu in an exclusive chat with brila.net said he is not sad about himself not being part of the squad to the world cup in Poland.

The player, however, commends coach Paul Aigbogun for including him among the squad that went for the Afcon competition in the Niger Republic of which unfortunately he could not put up his best because he was nursing an injury then.

“Unfortunately, I was one of those that won’t be in Poland. I must admit it was painful but there will always be another chance in the future.

“It’s nothing to dwell too much on. The coach had to pick 23 players from a list 30, so it’s obvious that some people will be dropped at the end of the day,” Aremu told Brila.net.
