Iheanacho’s Eagles AFCON invitation is a lifeline for redemption – Ekpo

Former Super Eagles player Friday Ekpo has stated that the inclusion of Leicester city FC player Kelechi Iheanacho in the provisional list of players for the forthcoming AFCON on Egypt is a lifeline handed the player to help himself and redeem his faltering career.
Ekpo speaking in a chat with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid the former Manchester city player is a good player but now needs to grab this opportunity handed to him by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to justify his inclusion into the list of 25 players and also use this as a platform to also redeem his career.
“Iheanacho has been a very good player, his potential or ability is now left for him to really help himself. Two or three weeks in camp training is not the same as playing consistently with your club.
I just pray he will really get doing better for himself, let’s see how he will prove himself to the coach to select him for the final 23 people.”
Iheanacho’s  inclusion into the list of provisional players for the AFCON has been met with strong reservations among football fans who felt he shouldn’t have been included.
