Ighalo apologise to Nigerians over Algeria defeat

Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has apologized to Nigerians following Nigeria’s 2-1 defeat to Algeria which ended Nigeria’s Africa cup of nations 2019 quest courtesy of a late Riyad Mahrez strike late into regulation time at the semi-final stage of the AFCON.

Ighalo speaking after the match in a chat gathered by Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid the Super Eagles feel bad losing to Algeria and would have loved to still be in contention for the title but will now shift focus on ensuring they finish well by winning their third-place game against Tunisia on Wednesday.
“We want to tell them we are sorry, we gave our best but our best was not enough, we conceded a last minute goal.
“We have to keep working hard, we have a game on the 17th of July 2019 in the Third place. We hope to win that game and go with that.”
