fifteen people died in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State in a road accident in the area at about 8 am Monday. The accident was a head-on collision between a Carina station wagon conveying 10 passengers and a Hilux van.
All the occupants of the two vehicles perished in the incident. The two vehicles rammed into each other as their drivers tried to avoid potholes on the road, about eight kilometers to the local government headquarters.
It was gathered that the station wagon was heading towards Akwanga Local Government Area Headquarters while the Hilux van was heading to Abuja from Lafia when the accident occurred.
At the time of filing this report, efforts were still on by residents of the area to bring out dead bodies trapped in the mangled vehicles.
