Mikel makes Trabzonspor debut in 2-2 draw with Sparta Prague

Former Nigeria international John Obi Mikel made his debut for Trabzonspor in their 2-2 draw against Sparta Prague in Thursday’s Europa League game.

 

Mikel signed two years contract with the Turkish outfit after the expiration of his contract with English Championship side  Middlesbrough.

 

Mikel started the game for Unal Karaman side as they fought back from behind to rescue a valuable away draw.

 

Mikel saw actions for 46 minutes before he was replaced by Alexander Soerloth to prevent him for getting a second yellow card of the game, after his first in the 32nd minute.

 

Meanwhile, another Nigerian Anthony Nwakaeme saw action from start to finish.

 

The return leg holds on August 15 with the winners on aggregate proceeding to the next phase.
