Junior Lokosa scored on his return to Kano Pillars’ starting line-up as the four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions missed the chance to secure top spot after they played out a 1-1 draw against Niger Tornadoes in their match day 13 fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Monday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Lokosa, who missed Pillars’ 2-0 defeat to Yobe Desert Stars on match day 12 due to illness, netted from the spot nine minutes from time to cancel out Andrew Ikefe’s 19th minute strike for the visitors.
It was the former First Bank of Lagos star’s 11th goal of the season and he now looks on course to break Mfon Udoh’s record of 23 goals mark set four seasons ago.
Pillars remain in second position with the draw, two points behind Lobi Stars who lost 2-1 against Nasarawa United on Sunday.
