Abraham not Three Lions material yet, Former Arsenal players says he should wait

Tammy Abraham has been advised to snub Nigeria for a shot with England’s Three Lions as the Striker’s international future remains a talking point after he was yet, no considered by England’s Boss Gareth Southgate.

Although Southgate himself has assured the youngster will get his chance, Abraham has been a subject of interest to the Nigeria Football Federation.

Last year, NFF President, Amaju Pinnick was quoted as implying that the young forward would commit his international future to Nigeria – Abraham denied it.

However, in recent weeks the 21 year-old has been in the news with pressure on both sides for him to pledge allegiance.

The latest to call for Abraham’s commitment to England is former England and Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour.

According to Parlour, who played alongside Kanu Nwankwo at Arsenal, sued for the young Chelsea striker to be patient.

Parlour insists the forward must prove he deserves a place in the Three Lions squad by improving on his current goalscoring form for Chelsea.

“If he keeps scoring goals, he will definitely get into the England squad,” the ex-Arsenal midfielder said.

“Jamie Vardy has retired and they’re lacking a little bit up front.

“He’s got an opportunity to be in the squad, but obviously he won’t be in front of Harry Kane.”

Abraham has scored four goals in as many matches for Chelsea in the premier league this season.
