Abridged League style not good for NPFL – MAIKABA

Plateau United coach, Abdul Maikaba has said that abridge NPFL league will give Nigeria poor representation in next season’s continental football.

Maikaba told www.brila.net after his side lost 4-2 to NNL side Aklosendi in a penalty shoot-out that the abridged version of the previous league will not give the country better representatives in continental football.

‘People should get to understand that playing abridge league will not give Nigeria clubs a better representatives, let me site an example…

“If El-Kanemi is topping the league, a bottom team might overtake it because of the abridge effect and it will relegate El-Kanemi, that’s why I said, abridge league is not good for the Nigeria league it will not produce a better champion to represent the country in the continent’ Maikaba said.
