Ademola Lookman must end his Liepzig’s misery in the summer

Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman was left on the bench for entire 90 minutes as German side RB Leipzig beat Tottenham Hotspurs 3-0 to secure qualifications to the quarter final of UEFA Champions league.

Lookman who was involved in Liepzig’s 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday, was dropped to the bench as Timo Werner returned to the line up and joined Marcel Sabitzer to lead the onslaught against Jose Mourinho’s men on Tuesday.

Although Timo Werner didn’t score, but his strike partned Marcel Sabitzer got a brace and substitute Emil Forsberg scored the other goal to help the team advance into the last eight.

Lookman, has continued to struggled for quality game time since joining the club permanently from Everton and apparently he’s below Werner, Sabitzerand Forsberg in the pecking order.

The former Chalton Athletics attacker has failed to score or assist a goal in his last nine matches for the club this season, and has just a single appearance in the Champions League this season, when he played 29 of Liepzig win over Zenit St. Petersburg in the group stage.

Lookman has switched allegiance to Nigeria from England, but his lack of opportunity in Julien Nagelsmann’s side made it difficult to earn his first invitation into the Super Eagles.

The 22 year old must consider a move back to England in the summer in order to resurrect his career.
