Aina gets a piece in Torino’s Eight-goal Thriller with Atalanta

It was a wild night in Bergamo, Wednesday, as Atalanta and Torino served up an eight-goal thriller at the Gewiss Stadium in the Serie A.

A share of the spoils in the day like typical Italian wine culture, Atalanta fought their way back from the brink of defeat in what has been an already battered season.
No surprise Torino were on the front foot from the blast of the whistle, the Turin side were unbeaten in four successive games leading to that encounter, and they drew first blood to establish that point.
Former Barcelona B product Antonio Sanabria netted the opener inside four minutes, but the lead didn’t last very long.
In fact, Atalanta quickly turned the tie on its head, leveling up in the 17th minut through Luis Muriel from the penalty spot before he then set up Marten de Roon for the lead six minutes later.
However, goal action in the half wasn’t done and center Referee Rosario Abisso awarded the visitors a penalty, which Sasa Lukic duly converted to bring the sides level heading into the interval.
Torino manager Ivan Juric stuck with his 3-4-2-1 shape, opting for Ola Aina as left wing back.
Aina returned to the set up after getting a bench role in the last game.
The 25 year-old was handed 90minutes on the night and for the first time since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
He contributed 2 tackles, 1 interception, 1 clearance, 2 blocks and won 1 aerial duel.
The second half produced 4 goals, Lukic picked his second and from the spot again before a Remo Freuler own goal saw Torino build a 4-2 lead.
However, Atalanta hit back again and substitute Mario Pasalic (78′) reduced the deficit and Muriel (84′) tied it from the spot with his second.
