Akure Stadium’ Pitch Revitalized, Stakeholders Remain Upbeat Ground Will Be Deem Fit For 2020/21 NPFL

The pitch at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure is now wearing a new look following some revitalization works carried out on it.

Revitalization of the pitch is part of a massive repair and upgrade the stadium is undergoing in time for the start of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The ongoing extensive work will also touch on, and transform the dressing room, scoreboard, and other areas of the facility.

The Commissioner for Sports in Ondo State, Barr Dotun Owanikin, ODSFA management as well as the leadership of the State’s Sports Council remained optimistic the stadium will meet the requirements of the LMC to host Sunshine Stars’ home matches in the fast-approaching season.

“We are going to ensure we put our stadium in order before the season start, I can assure you that in the next few days you will see a lot of positive metamorphoses at the Stadium in terms of massive renovations.”

“The LMC will be convinced that we are ready to play our home matches in Akure, by ensuring that we renovate the facilities at the Sports Complex within the time frame.” Owanikin posited earlier.
