Al Ahly’s were confirmed League champions on Wednesday following their 3-1 away victory against El Mokawloon at the Borg El Arab Stadium, the win was “important” for the club according to Forward Junior Ajayi.
The 2018/19 title is Al Ahly’s 41st league crown and it comes in what has been a near disastrous season for the Red Devils.
Describing his and the the Al Ahly locker room, Ajayi to the club’s website that, ‘Al-Ahly is a big club and we compete for every championship in which he participate.
‘So, moments like this bring real happiness and it is historic,’ the Nigerian explained.
‘This season’s championship was of great importance because of the circumstances surrounding the team, especially after the exit from the African Championship, so everyone pledged to win the league to cheer the fans, which is now achieved.’
