Former Golden Eaglets Coach and current Tanzania National team Coach Emmanuel Amunike has urged Villarreal sensation Samuel Chukwueze to pick the 2019 AFCON over the World Youth Championship in Poland.
In an exclusive interview with Brila.net, Amunike said the young lad has played tougher games with his club side (Villarreal) in Laliga, therefore, he should be focusing on playing at the Afcon with the Super Eagles team.
“He has been playing at the top level in his club, for me, I will prefer he plays with the super eagles and give way for others to have the chance to play at the U20 level,” Amunike told brila.net.
“Of course, he has to embrace the challenges, he has been playing along tough club sides like Madrid and Barcelona and he has demonstrated that he has something to prove at the senior team.
“If I may advise him, he should stick with the senior team, let somebody else have the opportunity to play with the U20 team, said Amunike.
Samuel Chukwueze who played under the tutelage of coach Emmanuel Amunike from the U17 to the U20 level after winning the U17 world cup in UAE but the team failed to qualify for the world cup at the U20 level.
