Aremu declares readiness for U-20 AFCON in Niger Republic

IK Start of Norway midfielder, Afeez he‘s ready to help Flying Eagles at next month’s African U-20 Cup of Nations in Niger Republic despite the competition not included within FIFA calender.

The former Akwa United of Uyo midfielder who is part of important players in Paul Aigbogun’s team confirmed that his club has gavehim go ahead to play at the tournament , since the Norwegian league and on break and won return until April.

The 2019 U-20 AFCON scheduled for February in Niger Republic, Aremu however, declared his readiness to help the team.

Aremu said: “I am fully back to the U20 camp because our league is off and my club have released me to come and represent mycountry.

 

“Our league will only resume in April and so I hope to play at the AFCON in Niger.”

The Flying Eagles are drawn in Group A along with the host nation, Niger Republic as well as South Africa and Burundi, against which they will open their campaign on February 2 in Niamey.
