Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has outlined his plans to prepare his side ahead of the AFCON in Egypt.
Baxter is yet to select players that will feature this year’s Cosafa Cup ahead of the African Nations Cup in Egypt in June.
This year’s COSAFA tournament‚ however‚ remains up in the air after Zimbabwe suddenly pulled out of hosting the annual event without warning last month.
Speaking with www.brila.net, Baxter revealed that the squad for the COSAFA would be different from that of the AFCON, as they would use the tournament to check some players he is looking to add to his team.
“We consider arranging a squad so as to feature in the COSAFA tournament but not the same squad as the AFCON but we do want to at least bring some players we would love to check”
“And so we will be move into that camp very early. Then we will take the full squad to Dubai, play some friendly matches before moving into our base camp in Cairo”.
Last Friday’s Nations Cup draw saw Bafana were pitted against Ivory Coast‚ Namibia and Morocco in Group D after the draw was conducted in Cairo.
