Securing qualification to the semi-final stage of the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is the immediate objective of Super Falcons according to Head Coach Thomas Dennerby.
Nigeria are housed in Group B along with South Africa, Zambia and Kenya, but there’ll be no underrating any of the teams as all of the teams are good Dennerby stressed.
The opening group B clash for the Falcons will be against Banyana Banyana on November 18 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
“Our other three opponents in the group [B] are good. We have three weeks to our first game against South Africa and will focus on preparing well for the matches to ensure we get to the semi-final,” the Falcons Coach said, per @NGSuper_Falcons .
Nigeria is the defending champion if the competition, having won the last edition in Cameroon, two years ago.
This edition of the competition will also serve as the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers; the top three teams will represent Africa in France.
