Don’t be too desperate to play abroad – Udeze urges home-based players

Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze has charged Nigerian home-based players against the desperation of plying their trade in Europe.

The former West Brom defender made his point while hosting former teammate and current Super Eagles Chief scout on Brila FM’s Popular breakfast show ‘Udeze’ Diary.

The two Ex-Internationals shared their experiences with stranded Nigerian players abroad who have been duped by several Football agents…

Udeze, however, maintained that it is the act of desperacy for young players to play abroad that has led them to falling victims of Scammers who appears to be Football agents.

“Most time when I spend my time on pitches in Lagos, A lot of people come to me that they want to traavel to Europe just because they can play football” Agali stated.

“Some parents even say they are ready to sell Lands and properties to facilitate a move abroad for their wards”

“It is an act of desperation, It is terrible,” Agali concluded.

The former Hansa Rostock and OGC Nice forward also expressed his disappointment at Ex-Internationals who have indulged in the habits of forming Football agents and giving lifeless hopes to the young Nigerians.

Udeze, who played for Bendel Insurance before moving to Europe in 1997 agreed with Agali’s position and has called on young Nigerians to seek respected ex-players for advice before falling flat for scammers who act as Agents.

Both Ex-Internationals played in the Nigerian League during their formative years before securing moves to ply their trade in Europe.
