Former assistant coach of Nigeria’s senior national team Joe Erico has stated clearly that there won’t be surprise inclusions in coach Gernot Rohr’s Eagles AFCON provisional list ahead of next month’s 2019 Africa cup of nations in Egypt.
Erico speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the talk of trying out new faces will no longer be considered by the coach who already have a clear idea of what his team looks like at the moment.
He thereafter added that the friendly games in front of the team now will just be to put finishing touches on how the team will execute games at the AFCON.
“The coach knows his players by now, the question of selecting players is out of it because he can’t be selecting players by now.
A month to the commencement of the tournament I mean there is no trial again I suppose. So any friendly match is good to prepare the team for the take-off of the tournament.”
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have games against Zimbabwe and Senegal before the commencement of hostilities at the AFCON in Egypt.
