Assistant coach of Nigeria’s men basketball team Ogoh Odaudu has expressed the satisfaction of the D’Tigers to have finally picked an Olympic ticket after the team beat host nation China 86 – 73.
Odaudu speaking in a chat with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comafter the game said the team was excited to have finally ended her world cup sojourn with an Olympic ticket for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
He added that it was also a moment that had the team reflect and rue the group stage defeat to Russia which would have certainly set them on the path to continue to challenge for honours at the world cup beyond the Olympic ticket.
“It was a great feeling, we hope that Nigerians are going to be happy with us knowing fully well that we could have done better and that Russia game is coming back to haunt us.
That was a game we could have won and we would not have been under this kind of stress by now, we would have qualified easily from our group but all in all, it was a great experience.”
