Eaglets still work in progress – Atune

Assistant coach of Nigeria’s U17 national team Jolomi Atune has stated that the Eaglet is still work in progress despite finishing top of her group to qualify for the semi-final of the CAF Africa U17 championship and also booking a spot at the 2019 FIFA U17 world cup.

Atune speaking in a telephone chat with www.brila.net said the Nigeria U17 team will keep improving with each passing game of the tournament and that the team’s greatest problem now is in the area of finishing where they have struggled so far.
“The team is work in progress, it’s a building process. Gradually we will be improving by every game. Now the cohesion is there, watch the last game and look at the possession.
Apart from scoring goals, there is more improvement than our previous games. Our greatest problem now is finishing because we create chances. This last match we created 22 chances and scored one.
The Nigeria U17 team will now face Guinea in the semi-final of the ongoing CAF Africa U17 championship on Wednesday.
