Egypt ’19: Don’t be too injury conscious – Ndukwe tells Eagles

Former Super Eagles forward Raphael Chukwu-Ndukwe has urged players of the senior national team not to be too injury conscious ahead of the fast-approaching AFCON in Egypt to the point of obviously holding back performance and playing too safe at club level.

Chukwu-Ndukwe said in a chat with  www.brila.netthat players should continue to give their best at club level maintain their form and be professional in the discharge of their duties at club and national team level.
He said been too conscious of not wanting to get injured could rob players of actually not giving their best at club level.
“Of course let them not put their mind on it too much because they are not going to get injured. It comes when you even become over conscious.
Let them just make sure they continue giving their best so that they will be in top form before they come to camp and also have at the back of their mind that the national team coach is monitoring their situation at their respective clubs as well.”
Nigeria’s Super Eagles return to the cup of nations and will be competing for honours at this summer’s AFCON in Egypt.
