Falconets’ Word Cup hunt receives boost

Nigeria’s chances to excel at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup will receive a major boost from the government as Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung assured players of the Falconets Squad.

According to the Sports Minister,  all matters of their welfare at the competition will be catered to by the Federal Government.

The Falconets have reached two previous finals of the competition, but lost on both occasions to Germany.

Thus in a bid to improve the team’s chances, Dalung insists motivation will be crucial to help them go one step further in France.

As part of efforts to boost the team’s chances, the Nigeria FA organized a pre-tournament camp for the Chris Danjuma-led team in Austria, where the Falconets played tune-up games against topflight women division clubs.

Nigeria will open her campaign on August 6 against Germany.
