Health workers, patients, and visitors at the Lagos University Hospital LUTH, Idi Araba were scared Thursday night as a man admitted in the hospital died coughing and vomiting few hours that he was brought to the hospital.

The man ,56 ,tested positive to Covid-19 ,meaning that Lagos has recorded first death of Coronavirus patient.

Cornerstone news gathered that following the circumstances surrounding the death of the hypertensive ,diabetic patient, with malaise tremors and fever at the emergency unit of the hospital ,the management decided to carry out a posthumous Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test on the man.

Our source in the hospital ,said

“the result is out and the man tested positive to Covid-19. He was also diagnosed with acute chronic kidney disease and sepsis. The deceased did not disclose his travel history. Fingerprint antibody test was done on him, confirming his COVID-19 infection”.

” We are in trouble in this country. How could he stay at home till the time he was brought to the hospital and who knows how many people he has infected? People brought him to the hospital and many health workers assisted him. I am afraid that many people have been infected “.
