FIFA U-17 World Cup: Iroha to judge Eaglets after two games

Former Golden Eaglets assistant coach Been Iroha says he will judge the current Golden Eaglets squad after the first two group games at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The Manu Garba boys will begin the quest for the sixth World FIFA U-17 World when the take on Hungary in their first group game in Brazil Saturday night.

However a lot of questions has been raised back home on chances of the team going all the way in Brazil, Iroha who was the assistant to late Yemi Tella when Nigeria won the title back in 2007 in Korea said he will create his opinion on the team after two games.

“Would the Eaglets possibly win a sixth FIFA U17 World Cup this time? I don’t know yet, but ask me after the group games, after I would have watched them closely in the group games, then I would be able to say yes, or no,” Iroha

Iroha stressed further by warning the Manu Garba led the team that they must work hard , if they want to return home with the title, as no more easy matches in football.

“Every team that qualified for the World Cup did so on merit and so deserves respect.”

“There are no more minnows in global football anymore. But the thing that gives me joy is that Nigeria has always been blessed with abundant talents especially at the youth level.”Iroha said.
