Cornerstonenewsng.comunderstands that the Nigeria FA have held talks with the former Cameroonian boss and agreement is very close.
The NFF are in the market for permanent replacement for Gernot Rohr who was sacked last November.
Austin Eguavoen was given the job on interim bases, but his hope of keeping the job suffered a big blow as the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
NFF top officials reportedly held a meeting on Friday morning and have decided on the Portuguese-born gaffer, but are yet to convince the Sports Minister Sunday Dare.
Meanwhile, the NFF leadership is expected to have a showdown meeting with the Minister this week.
Conceicao last worked as the head coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. He guided them to a third place finish at the last African Cup of Nations and final phase of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification round.
He was sacked in February and replaced with former Cameroon CB Rigobert Song.
