Kelechi Iheanacho scored his third league goal of the season and Leicester City’s opener in the 2-1 win over West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.
Iheanacho, who last featured for the Foxes in the game against Norwich, returned to the starting XI in place of Jamie Vardy.
The Nigerian improved his goal scoring tally heading home a cross from Ayoze Perez in the 40th minute to bring his goals contribution in the league to 5 in four appearances.
However, just before the break, the visitors were pegged back after Pablo Fornals scored to force a tie going into the interval.
Leicester City, who suffered a major blow to their title chances in back to back loses to Man City and Liverpool, were made to sweat for maximum points by the struggling hammers.
But, the winner did come, through Demarai Gray (56′), who had missed a chance to score from the spot in the opening 12 minutes after Lukasz Fabianski fouled a goal bound Iheanacho inside the box.
The result helps Brendan Rodgers’ men extend their lead in second spot to four points ahead of Manchester City.
