Regarded as one for the future after he guided the goalposts for the victorious Golden Eaglets at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the UAE, 21-year-old Dele Alampasu has since struggled with his fledging career at Clube Desportivo Feirense, before he was farmed out on loan to Cesarense in the Campeonato de Portugal- the third tier of Portuguese football last season.
Upon his return to his parent club this season, Alampasu has now revealed in a chat with www.brila.net that due to his lack of playing time, he almost left the club during the transfer window last month, but that the club told him he couldn’t leave as he remains part of their plans for the future.
“I almost left the club this transfer window but they did not let me as they told me they still want me around”.
“Looking ahead now, I just want to finish my season here and see what happens in the summer”.
A lot of experience for me if I decide to stay, and it will surely help me in the future, as I believe my time will come” he stated.
“I’ve learned a lot since I came to Portugal; this is my fourth year since I moved over to Europe. It would be bad if I’d not learnt anything and it would mean I’m not enjoying what I’m doing”.
“I enjoy what I’m doing and I’m really grateful for what I have been able to do so far. I just have to remain focussed and with what I have gathered here, I can get better and move forward in my career.
Alampasu has made just one start since his return this season to Feirense and will be hoping that improves before the end of the season.
