“I have learned to be even more patient”- Roger Federer

Roger Federer, a 20-time Grand Slam champion won his 100th ATP Tour title at the Dubai Tennis Championships, making him just the second man, after American Jimmy Connors in 1983, to reach the landmark.

Federer, who started playing tennis at age eight, became Switzerland’s junior champion when he was 14. Federer won his 100th ATP title, 18 years after he won his first ever ATP title in Milan defeating Frenchman Julien Boutter.

“I’m a very positive thinker, and I think that is what helps me the most in difficult moments. It is an absolute dream come true right now,” said Federer, who will become world number four on Monday, March 4t,h 2019.

Federer, 37, will have to win 10 more titles to beat Connors’ men’s record of 109, a record he set when he was 37 years old, while Martina Navratilova holds the all-time record having won 167 women’s singles crowns during her career.

It raises the question, At 37, can Federer break Connors record?

Federer’s belief in hard work and love for tennis makes a positive argument “if you’re great at only one thing to make it everything. There’s no way around hard work .embrace it. you have to put in the hours because there’s always something which you can improve.”
