Ighalo admits training during the lockdown was strange and difficult

Odion Ighalo reveals that it was strange for players to train in isolation during lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The various league were suspended in Europe and players were instructed to train in at home in order to curb the widespread of the coronavirus.

However, with the lockdown lifted in the United Kingdom and some European countries, clubs are allowed to be back in training in order to restart the campaign.

Ighalo told the club website that the period of the lockdown was strange and difficult for players, but it’s what they have to do to stay safe.

“It’s been strange, you know because you have to stay two meters apart to talk to your team-mates. Sometimes, you need to get close to give them some signs but now it’s two meters and it’s kind of strange.” He said.

“But this is what we have to do for us to be safe and for the game to go on. We are ready to do it and we’re happy to do it. Everybody is looking good. Running, working hard, and playing football. Little two-a-sides and doing some ball work.

The former Super Eagles striker delighted to be back in full train with his teammates, and he added they are ready for the premier league to reopen again.

“Everyone is getting better and better. Everyone is back, even Paul is back training normally and Rashy is back training as normal. Everyone is training normally and training full and all that, so the squad is full and everyone is ready, I think.”

Meanwhile, the Premier league project restart has been scheduled for June 17 and Manchester United will travel to London for their clash with Tottenham Hotspurs.
