‘My skin is not a crime’, Saka joins #BlackLivesMatter campaign

Super Eagles hopeful and Arsenal utility player Bukayo Saka joined other Arsenal players in protest against racism and discrimination.

Saka and his teammates wore Black Lives Matter T-shirts and took a knee before their test game against Brentford at the Emirates on Wednesday night.

 

Black communities across the world have been protesting for the few weeks following for the death of black man George Floyd in US police custody last month.

 

Arsenal however shared photos of the players on their social media supporting the campaign.

 

Bukayo Saka wore a shirt which read: ‘My skin is not a crime’, while Hector Bellerin who was pictured training beside wore a shirt that said: “I’m not black but I stand with you”.

 

A T-shirt worn by Kieran Tierney read: “I can’t breathe”.

 

Meanwhile, the friendly game between the Gunners and Brentford ended in 2-3 victory in the favor of the championship side.
