It Feels Right This Time! MFM FC Star Makes Bold Title Claim

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s exit from MFM FC was a massive blow to the modest Lagos-based club aiming for another shot at the league title.

Ilechukwu’s departure brought an end of a 13-year marriage between the Coach and the club, some top names – in a more customary style – also left before the new season.

With a shoe string budget and a dedication to it’s youth promotion football policy, the club trudged ‘steadily’ along through a tough pre-season under new Boss Tony Bulus.

Very little changed about the excitement of their game play more there was more o say for the guile showed on the pitch.

Securing an away win in the league opener against Heartland – and their former Coach – was poetic; something out of a Hollywood flick.

Currently 7th in the log after three matches and have won more away games than they did last season.

It is this early signs that’s steering some real belief the season could be year MFM clinch the title, according to Forward Kabiru Adeniji.

The club narrowly missed of a spot in the playoffs last term, Adeniji was the club’s top scorer and he has told www.Cornerstonenewsng.comthey’re motivated to go again.

‘Last season of course I was the team’s top scorer, but I was also working for the team. This time I have scored a goal and am focused on helping the team,’ He said.

‘When we started off in pre-season with the new Coach (Tony Bulus), it was hard; We scrapped through.

‘But right now we look compact and the chemistry is better now. As players we actually feel Coach Tony can lead this team, finally to a league title or at least play continental football next season.’
