Jamilu Collins Is Ready For Indomitable Lions Test, says Rohr

Super Eagles has been boosted by the return of first choice left back Jamilu Collins from injury, ahead of crucial tie with the indomitable lions of Cameroon on Saturday.

Collins has not featured for the Super Eagles in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Egypt, no thanks to ankle injury he suffered shortly before the tournament kicked off.

However, in his absence , Ola Aina has made the position his own and the gaffer of the team, Gernot Rohr revealed the Padeborn of Germany defender‘s return is good for the team, but he’s unsure if he will play a part against the Cameroonians.

“We have good news from [Jamilu] Collins, he can play now but I’m not sure if he will start or not but he will be on the bench,” Rohr told the media.

Rohr, who has endured some backlash from the Nigerian media after the team’s defeat to debutants, Madagascar in the final Group game, added that his Captain, Mikel Obi and defender Shehu Abdullahi are not in contention for the game.

“We only have an injury to John Obi Mikel who will not be able to play this match [on Saturday], while Shehu is still under treatment and is starting training now but won’t be playing this match.”

Meanwhile, the three time African Champions will look to continue their recent dominance over the Cameroonians in Alexandria later today and a victory will hand them a quarter-final berth against South Africa or Egypt for a place in the semi-finals.
