Late Ifeanyi George family to receive multi million insurance benefit after Covid-19 pandemic

Rangers International of Enugu G.M/CEO, Prince Davidson Owumi has disclosed that the family of late Ifeanyi George will be able to access his insurance benefits after the current ongoing global pandemic.

It would be recalled that the Super Eagles and former Enyimba international of Aba forward Ifeanyi George was killed in a ghastly motor accident while traveling to Lagos from Enugu on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

However, a few weeks after the sad incident the Nigerian professional football league side made an announcement that the family of the player is entitled to multi-million compensation as part of the insurance policy of the club.

“As soon as the COVID-19 trouble ends, the family of late Ifeanyi George will have the opportunity to have the Insurance benefit due to their son,” Owumi said.

The reputable administrator also maintained that the policy is not equated to the life of the player.

“It’s not that the insurance money in any way equates the life of our late player, Ifeanyi George but, it goes a long way to show what a professional team should look like.” he stated.

Ifeanyi George made his international debut for Nigeria in 2017 against Benin Republic and earned two international caps. He was aged 26.
