Liverpool face Chelsea in Carabao Cup third round

English Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea have been drawn together in the third round of the EFL Carabao Cup.

 

The Carabao Cup third round draw was held on Thursday night with the former winners headlining it.

 

Both clubs have won the competition 13 times.

 

Eight-time winners Liverpool will be at home (Anfield) for the mammoth clash.

 

Defending champions Manchester City have an away tie at League Two side Oxford United, while City rivals Manchester United welcome Championship side Derby County to Old Trafford.

 

North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were handed respective derbies.

 

The Gunners will host Brentford at home, while Tottenham will have to look for a match venue for their home game against fellow Premier League club Watford.

 

Tottenham have had to play their home games at the Wembley Stadium at the start of the new season due to the delay from getting their new stadium ready for matches.

 

The Watford game could be played at the home stadium of League Two side MK Dons, Stadium MK.
