It was shocking news this morning in Inyi community in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State as a 40-year-old man killed and buried his elder brother.
It was gathered that the suspect, Raphael Izuchukwu, decided to kill his 46-year-old brother, Chizoba Ogbonna-Izuchukwu, who had been sick because he could no longer bear the cost of his treatment.
In a statement yesterday, the police public relations officer in the state, Ebere Amaraizu, said: “One Raphael Izuchukwu, believed to be 40 years, from Ugwuagbo Inyi village in Igbo-Eze North LGA of Enugu State had, on August 3, 2018, killed his elder brother, identified as Chizoba Ogbonna, also believed to be about 46 years, and went ahead to bury him.”

“On why he killed and buried his brother, the suspect further revealed that the brother had been sick and he could no longer bear the cost of his treatment. So, he killed and buried him to stop the burden he had been going through since he took ill.”
Amaraizu disclosed that the suspect was arrested following a tip-off, stressing that he has also confessed to committing the crime.
The spokesman said that police operative in Igbo-Eze North apprehended the suspect through intelligence information, adding: “
Full-scale investigations have commenced, as the suspect is now helping the police in their investigations.”
