Maradona wants to replace OLE as Manchester United Manager

Former Argentina Manager Diego Maradona believes he is the man to bring the good times back to Manchester United if the club run out of patience with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United are not currently in the market for a manager, having given the job to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earlier in the season, but if they do decide they need to freshen things up at Old Trafford, then “I’m the man to do it,” Argentina’s 1986 World Cup winner told Four Four Two magazine.

“I know they sell lots of shirts around the world, but they need to win trophies, too. I can do that for them.”

Maradona went onto explain that United were his English team at one point, but switched allegiances to rivals Man City as a result of compatriot Sergio Aguero.

Considered one of the greatest players ever, the 58-year-old offered his thoughts on the current United team.

Maradona, who managed the Argentina national team between 2008-10, is a cult hero throughout the game but may face a tough task of winning over United supporters given his links to rivals Manchester City.
