Mosimane-Al Ahly deal, Tough Draw for Man United, Easy Ride for Chelsea and More

With football action back in full swing of course there’s been transfer activities, award events and titles won in the post-COVID 19 lockdown, plus the drama Lionel Messi pulled.

It might come as a shock that Everton Football club, Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals are top of the English premier League heading into week four, but even more interesting to wake up to Al Ahly’s managerial shuffle.

 

Al Ahly announced Thursday that it had appointed 2016 CAF Champions League winner and five-time South Africa Premier Soccer League winner Pitso Mosimane.

 

Pitso penned a two-year deal and has counseled for time fans of the Red Devils to increase the glory of the Club of the Century.

 

“Salam Alaikum and greetings to everybody at Al Ahly football club. I’d like to thank Captain Beebo and all the board members of Al Ahly for entrusting me with the difficult task at hand. They should confidence in me and they believe I can take the team to a bigger and higher space.

 

“To the Red Devils; Al Ahly fans, I’m saying to them give me the space, give me the time I will take Al Ahly to a next level. Believe in me and I believe in You. Thank you for bringing to the Al Ahly family. I appreciate and I am humbled and I will do my best to deliver,” Pitso affirmed in his first interview published by the Club’s Media team.

 

He could earn about $120,000 per month according to soccerladuma, but football writer,  Michael Deveerson believes the South African will be paid way more.

 

He tweeted :MOSI-MONEY! @TheRealPitso was earning around USD $60,000 a month at

@Masandawana   NOW! Pitso’s salary at @AlAhly will be around USD $270,000 a month.

 

Meanwhile, Didier Drogba was also in the news when received his UEFA Presidential Award on Thursday just before his UEFA Champions League group stage draw – he picked the first ever Lionel Messi and Cristiano UCL group stage encounter as confirmed by former Barca forward Gary Lineker.
