A 25-years-old woman, Zainab Justina Adamu, has been arrested for allegedly selling her four- monthly- old baby N300, 000 at Kofar Kaura Lay, Katsina in Katsina State.
Also arrested with her was her friend, Ruth Kenneth who allegedly conspired with her to sell the baby, another woman who bought the baby, Chinwindi Omeh, and her younger brother.
Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) SP Gambo Isah, in a statement, said:
“In the course of investigation another suspect, Chukwudi Elias Nnali, 45, of the same address, brother to Chinwindi Omeh, was also arrested for aiding and abetting the commission of the offense. The sum of N165,000:00K and N85,000:00K were recovered from Zinab Adamu and Ruth Kenneth respectively as proceeds of the sale of the baby. The investigation is ongoing”
