World No 6, Ukrainian Elina Svitolina experienced life on the other side of the net, Being a spectator instead of being the one on court put tennis in a completely different perspective for her.
Svitolina got fired up cheering on her ‘boo’ Gael Monfils in his 6-4 3-6 6-3 win over Leonardo Mayer at the Indian wells. Something Svitolina describes as difficult: “Watching Monfils is much tougher than being on a court…”
This comes days after Gael Monfils traveled to Dubai to watch Svitolina, the frenchman has admitted that his new girlfriend Elina Svitolina is helping him to become a better player and person.
Although he said “If I do her routine, I won’t be able to do it.” as he thinks Svitolina is too professional.
The couple confirmed that were dating in January during the 2019 Australian Open.
Tennis couple, Elina Svitolina and Gael monfils at the Qatar Open in February, decided to donate $100, per every ace she and her boyfriend hit in the following two tournaments.
“I think it’s very important to give back to the people, to the kids, because, you know, they are enjoying watching us, supporting us, giving us lots of, you know, support and love. So we are trying to find the ways to give something back…”
Svitolina has moved into the Indian wells round of 16 after she defeated Gavrilova, 7-5, 6-4.
