Nwakaeme laments Super Eagles snub

Trabzonspor striker Anthony Nwakaeme is disappointed that was not given enough chance by Super Eagles‘s Coach Gernot Rohr to show what he can do since his belowpar debut in Algeria last year.

After a good season in Israel, Nwakaeme was included in Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying squad to face Algeria in the deadrubber tie back in October 2017, however the failed to impress before he was hurled off in the 71 minutes of the game.

Nwakaeme is who has not be invited to the Super Eagles after the game believes Gernot Rohr decided to do away with him because of the unimpressive display.

”If I (say) am not disappointed I’d be lying. It was not my best game against Algeria but it was not so bad like they look at it,” Nwakaeme stated.

”After one game I think that’s not fair on my own part. In football, anything can happen, different coaches, different people, different mentality.”

”Every football player wants to be in the team but at the end of the day the coach decides. Whatever the decision the coach takes, I wish them good luck, Nigeria is my country.

”Whatever they do, they have my full support. If I make the team, glory be to God, if I don’t I wish them the best just like in the World Cup.

”I am a football player I want to play, you cannot put yourself,” he concluded.

Nwakaeme has notched three goals and an assist in nine matches for Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig since joining from Israel.
