Ohale ready for new challenge at AS Roma

Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale says she is happy to have signed for AS Roma and hopes to help the Italian side achieve their set targets for the new season.

 

The 28-year-old on Thursday joined the Italian capital side from Spanish club Tacón (Real Madrid), becoming the team’s third signing of the season following the arrivals of Spanish forward Paloma Lazaro and Italian goalkeeper Rachele Baldi.

 

Speaking to the club’s official website, the former Rivers Angels star said:

 

“I am here, to help the team get all their targets because it is an amazing club it is a club with so much ambition,”

 

“I also want to (qualify to) play in the Champions League, because I have never played in the Champions League before.”

 

“I chose Roma because of so many amazing things about the club, the city and the country.”

 

“So I felt like it would be a great thing for me, to explore and to experience new things and a new challenge.”

 

Speaking further, the experienced defender admitted that she is open to learning new things in the Italian league.

 

“It’s an interesting league. I’m ready to learn and do whatever. Obviously I am expecting an interesting league, more challenging and I think I will learn more and add more to my career.”

 

Ohale has participated in three women’s World Cups and has won the African Women’s Cup of Nations four times.

 

At the club level, she played in the United States with Huston Dash before playing for Vittsjo and Vaxjo in Sweden.

 

During her time in the Nigeria Women’s league, she played for Rivers Angels and Delta Queens and won the league title twice with the latter.
