Okpara charges Eagles stars: prove your worth or get dropped

With Super Eagles handler Gernot Rohr yet to release his Super Eagles list for the AFCON qualifier against Seychelles as well as the friendly against Egypt, ex-international Godwin Okpara has called on the players to focus on finding a unique role for themselves in the team rather than just going to compete for a place in the team.

Rohr is currently making the list of players to be invited for the dead rubber AFCON 2019 Match-day 6 and the final qualifier against Seychelles on March 22 and an international friendly against Egypt four days later also in Asaba.

Speaking with www.brila.net, the former Strassborg, Paris St Germain and Standard Liege defense trojan stressed that despite the Coach having a bulk of his team from the qualifiers, every player should go to the camp believing anyone can get picked or even get dropped.

“I want the players to realize heading to camp that nothing is guaranteed, anything can happen, injuries can come, they should be ready, I hope the coach will bring out the best from the players he’s working with now”

“The coach has been working for a very long time so I believe the way he is working, he knows he is doing the best for the country and whoever he picks, the players should just make sure they prove themselves, he concluded

The international friendly between the Pharoah’s of Egypt and Super Eagles of Nigeria will hold at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba Delta State.
