Okpara tasks Rohr on home-based players

Former Super Eagles player Godwin Okpara has tasked national team handler coach Gernot Rohr to simply see what he can do with a few of the players in the domestic league as a way of developing players in the league and helping to build competition among league players as well as the confidence level of players in the league.

Okpara speaking in a chat with  brila.net said the coach has done well enough by virtue of the target handed initially and hopes he can go all the way once again to do well hopefully by incorporating players in the Nigerian league into his scheme of operation.
“Since he took over the national team, he has taken the team to another level. I think he has done well and what he needs now is to focus on our league and see how he can get a few good players.
“A coach that sign for any team must be around to monitor players in that country and know what is happening in the league.
He did well at the Nations Cup and was just unfortunate not to have won and he also qualified for the world cup.”
