Onuachu happy to be in Eagles squad preparing for AFCON

Super Eagles new boy and FC Midtjyland of Denmark striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu has voiced his excitement at being part of the players in camp in Asaba as they continue to prepare for the forthcoming AFCON in Egypt, starting with tomorrow’s game against Zimbabwe.

Players and officials will travel to the Egyptian city of Ismailia the following day aboard a chartered flight, where they will stay at the Hotel Mercure and spend a full week perfecting tactics and strategies, before taking on Africa’s number one –ranked team Senegal in another friendly in Ismailia.

On 17th January, the three-time champions will travel to Alexandria – venue of their Group B matches against Burundi, Guinea, and Madagascar.

Speaking with www.brila.net, Onuachu who netted the only goal against Egypt on his debut in the month of March this year believes the match will not be easy but is looking forward to it, while he believes the Eagles will get the result, provided they work hard and play as a team.

“I’m really looking forward to the game because we are playing the game this weekend and it’s not going to be easy”.

“But if we all come out, play to the coaches instructions and work hard, I believe the game will go our way, we will get the result”.

“I think it’s a good thing for me that I am among the squad, even though I might not start the match but it’s a good thing for me being with the team”.
